This is the second of our beautiful Ethiopian coffees from the Oromia region (the birthplace of coffee). It was the Oromo people who began using coffee as a food source around the beginning of the 5th century, it then developed into a drink, as well as a source of vital trade, spiritual nourishment and as a tool for peace-keeping.
The roast profile on this one has to be light to really bring out the taste notes, which are some of the sweetest citrus flavours you can find in a coffee form - a lingering, lemony acidity. 'Sweet citrus fruit juice' is how we have described it. It is the perfect coffee for a mid-afternoon cafetière, or one to savour on those lazy weekend mornings.
