1Who we are
CRU Kafe Limited ("CRU Kafe", "we", "us") runs crukafe.com. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 08648796, and our address is WeWork, 5 Merchant Square, London, W2 1AY.
We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how it is used and are responsible for it under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under number ZA120007.
2What we collect
Information you give us when you order, subscribe, create an account, sign up to emails or texts, leave a review, enter a competition or contact us. This includes your name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number, what you order and anything you write to us.
Information from your orders and subscription, such as your order history, delivery schedule, the blends you choose and any changes you make.
Information collected automatically when you visit our site, such as your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view and how you arrived. Some of this comes from cookies. See section 7.
Information from other companies, such as confirmation from our payment providers that a payment went through, delivery updates from couriers, and, if you allow it, basic information from social media platforms when you interact with our ads.
We never see or store your full card details. Payments are handled by our payment providers.
3How we use it, and our legal reasons
The law says we need a valid reason, called a lawful basis, for each way we use your information.

4Marketing
We will only send you marketing emails or texts if you have signed up, or if you have bought from us and did not opt out at the time. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can reply STOP to any text.
You can also change your preferences in your account or by emailing help@crukafe.com. Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop messages about orders or your subscription.
5Who we share it with
We never sell your personal information. We share it only with companies that help us run CRU Kafe, and only what they need to do their job. They must keep it secure and cannot use it for their own purposes.
- Shopify hosts our shop and checkout
- Skio manages subscriptions
- Shopify Payments, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay process payments
- Klaviyo sends our emails and texts
- Royal Mail deliver your orders
- Judge.me collects and displays reviews
- Meta and Google run our advertising, where you have agreed to marketing cookies
- Our warehouse and customer service tools
We may also share information where the law requires it, to prevent fraud, or if CRU Kafe is sold or merged, in which case the new owner would continue to protect it in line with this policy.
6Transfers outside the UK
Some of our suppliers store or process information outside the UK, including in the United States and Canada. When this happens we make sure your information is protected to UK standards, for example through UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
7Cookies
Cookies are small files saved on your device when you visit a website. We use:
- Essential cookies to keep your basket, log you in and check out securely. The site will not work without these.
- Analytics cookies to see which pages are useful and where people get stuck.
- Marketing cookies to show you relevant ads on other sites and measure whether they work.
We only use analytics and marketing cookies if you agree. You can change your choice at any time through cookie settings, linked at the bottom of every page.
8How long we keep it

After this we delete your information or make it anonymous.
9Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to us using it
- ask us to send your information to you or another company in a usable format
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it
To use any of these rights, email help@crukafe.com. We'll reply within one month. There is usually no charge.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to fix it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
10Keeping it safe
Our site uses encryption, access to customer information is limited to people who need it, and our suppliers must meet strict security standards. No system is completely secure, so please use a strong password for your account and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
11Children
Our shop is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
12Changes and contact
We'll update this policy when the way we use information changes, and change the date at the top. If a change affects you significantly, we'll email you.
